Participation Guidelines
By participating in a guided tour with GuidedAdventures, the participant declares that they have read and agree to the following participation guidelines:
§ 1 Definitions
(1) GuidedAdventures organizes guided tours in Europe. The individual leader of these tours is referred to as the Guide.
(2) When male terms are used below, they include female terms where applicable.
§ 2 Participation Requirements, packing list & insurances
(1) A prerequisite for participating in the tours is adherence to the packing list provided for each tour. Additional items are at the participant’s discretion.
(2) Participants who have not yet reached the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardians.
(3) Participants are aware that GuidedAdventures recommends that they take out foreign travel health insurance, rescue insurance and travel cancellation insurance before embarking on the trip. In the event of a lack of insurance cover, participants are responsible for any cancellation, rescue and treatment costs incurred.
(4) Information on entry, exit, visa and vaccination regulations can be found in each tour description. Compliance with these regulations is the sole responsibility of the participant.
§ 3 Risk assumption & fitness requirements
(1) Participants in GuidedAdventures tours acknowledge that these tours, conducted away from paved roads, pose specific physical demands and inherent risks.
(2) Information on the planned route, length and duration as well as the physical and/or technical difficulty of a tour can be found in each tour description and must be met as per minimum. Nevertheless, these are non-binding and serve exclusively to give the participant a rough impression of the expected requirements. Participants must assess and decide for themselves and on their own responsibility whether they meet these requirements. Misjudgements in this context are the sole responsibility of the participant.
(3) Participation in a tour is at the participant’s own risk. Tours may traverse public roads, paths, as well as both paved and unpaved trails.
§ 4 Participant Conduct
(1) Participants must always behave in a way that does not endanger themselves or other participants.
(2) Participants must strictly follow the instructions and guidelines of the Guide.
(3) All participants must accurately assess their own physical and technical abilities.
(4) Participants understand that tours, especially mountain tours, involve certain risks and dangers, which they accept knowingly and fully. Participants particularly understand and accept that severe – material, personal, or financial – damages may occur. Risks and dangers may arise from weather and trail conditions, as well as the actions of third parties. Poor health, lack of fitness, overestimation of one’s abilities, or inadequate technical skills may also pose dangers to oneself or others.
(5) In the event of damage or injury, the Guide must be informed immediately on-site.
(6) Participants understand that medical emergency care in most countries does not meet Western standards and is often inadequate. Especially in high mountains and remote areas, rapid medical assistance is often not possible.
